The awards are open to public and private entities, educational institutions, media organizations, and service organizations who have voluntarily taken actions to promote cleaner air that have gone above and beyond regulations. The nomination process is easy and the award provides an excellent opportunity for companies to be recognized for their efforts in the clean air arena. There will only be a select number of companies who receive this award. Award winners will be announced at EarthFest, April 22nd, at the Knoxville World’s Fair Park . The nomination entry deadline is Friday, March 24, 2006. For the nomination forms, please visit www.etnrcac.org. The East Tennessee Regional Clean Air Coalition was formed in 2003 by 11 East Tennessee County Mayors so that efforts to improve air quality throughout the region could be coordinated. The RCAC consists of committees formed by representatives from government, business and industry, educational institutions and the general public throughout the multi-county Knoxville region collectively focused on creating, promoting and implementing strategies to improve air quality. RCAC coordinates educational, legal and regulatory efforts to clear the air in the Knoxville region. Visit www.etnrcac.org for daily air quality forecasts and other information on air quality.
